Let me tell you, tackling those Disney Tomorrowland costumes was quite a journey! I had no idea where to even begin, but one thing was certain: I couldn't have done it without my incredible mother-in-law, a seamstress extraordinaire who works her magic on all my vintage dresses.
We had so many questions swirling in our heads. Where on earth would we find the right fabric? How in the world were we going to create those intricate tubing designs? And let's not even get started on the helmets – that was a puzzle in and of itself!
Our journey was a labor of love filled with a fair share of trial and error. But you know what? In the end, I truly believe we paid a fitting tribute to the original. There were various versions over the late 1960s, but below is our inspiration, and I couldn't be prouder of the final result!

Tomorrowland was a part of Disney's grand opening back in 1955, and was Walt Disney's vision of a futuristic, atomic space-age wonderland. But as the mid-1960s rolled around, it started to feel a tad outdated. So, in 1967, Disney decided it was time for a major makeover.
The entire area got a facelift with shiny new attractions (cue The Carousel of Progress!), new scenery, and, of course, the introduction of those iconic Tomorrowland characters that inspired our fabulous costumes.

We absolutely had to give these epic costumes their moment in the spotlight with a full-blown photoshoot. We poured our hearts into creating them over the past few weeks, and here are a few of my favorite shots from the session. But, don't wander too far because a detailed blog post and a YouTube video showcasing exactly how we brought these costumes to life are just around the corner, so stay tuned!
